Punkbuster Handshake Failure

Some have had issues with PB Handshake.  Well here is a quick and dirty fix for the PB Handshake Falure for Battlefield 1942

You can just exclude the PunkBuster file in essentials
1. Open Essentials
2. Click "Settings"
3. Click "Excluded files and locations"
4. Click "Browse"
5. Go to "C:Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\pb" (for 64bit) or "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\pb" (for 32bit)
6. Click "Add"
7. Click "Save Changes"
8. Reboot

Punkbuster Update for Battlefield 1942

If you are like me, and wanted the newest windows operating system, or just wanted to upgrade your computer, this may required you to perform a fresh install of BF42.  Only to be kicked time after time by Punkbuster because of updates.  You explore the normal option of PBSETUP.exe but find out our favorite game Battlefield 1942 no longer exists in the list of games.  Here is where I offer a quick update solution so you can join us on the battlefield.  The provided link below is a self extracting file that will place all BF42 Punkbuster official updates in their correct locations. 

Instructions:

1. Download Tank's Punkbuster updater below
2. Make sure you have punkbuster and BF42 patch 1.61b installed
3. Run Tank's Punkbuster updater
4. Make sure to select Don't Create Program Group during installation.
And you have just successfully updated Punkbuster for Battlefield 1942 without breaking a sweet.
